Located approximately 35 miles north of Salt Lake City and west of the Wasatch Mountains, West Haven is a city in Weber County, Utah. Named the fastest growing city in the state in 2009, the city offers some of the most scenic views in Utah. The Weber and Ogden Rivers join together in the northwestern portion of the city. To its south, the city is bordered by Roy; to the west by Hooper; to the east by Ogden and to the north by Marriott-Slaterville. The city has a total area of 10.2 square miles, all of which is land. Mormon settlers first came to the area as early as 1854, with the first Church of Latter Day Saints Ward being founded in 1882.

History buffs are sure to enjoy the community’s historical markers, including Muskrat Springs. The city’s 40-acre park, outfitted with sports fields and playground equipment, is also home to a historical marker.

As of the 2014 census, the city is home to 11,582 people. The number of occupied homes in the municipality is 3,200, with 2,595 families residing here. Average family size is 3.52 persons and the median age of those living in the city is 28.
Much of the city is zoned for commercial development, primarily along state highway 1900 West and near the 21st Street/Wilson Lane exit on Interstate 15. Businesses serving the community include small shops as well as larger stores.
There are even a few working farms in the municipality that date back to the 1800s.

A young municipality, West Haven was incorporated on July 1, 1991, when the unincorporated communities of Kanesville and Wilson combined to form the city. A citywide sewer system was installed in 2002. Plans call for the construction of what will be called River Parkway Trail, which will include a fishing bridge, pedestrian tunnel, picnic tables and other outdoor seating. It will eventually link up to the Weber County Centennial Trail.
